Taking care of trees and hedges on your property can be difficult and time-consuming, and you probably won’t have the tools to hand to do it safely. It’s worth calling in professional arborists who can inspect the trees on your property, understand their condition, advise you on next steps and carry out the work needed to keep your trees healthy and the surrounding area safe.
Cardiff is our home patch - we’re based at Cardiff Gate and work right across the city, from the mature gardens of Lisvane and Rhiwbina to the tighter terraced plots of Roath, Canton and Pontcanna.
Cardiff’s tree stock ranges from large, semi-mature specimens in the older northern suburbs to street trees and boundary hedges in denser residential areas, so access planning matters as much as the climb itself. Several parts of the city, including conservation areas around Llandaff, Roath and the Civic Centre, carry extra controls on tree work - always worth checking with Cardiff Council before any removal or significant pruning goes ahead.
If you have a tree issue, hedge problem or overgrowth affecting your house or boundary fence, it’s advisable to call a qualified arborist. Our team is fully trained, qualified and insured to carry out any size of job, even at height, with risk assessments completed before work begins. High access work may involve specialist equipment such as cherry pickers, and is completed in accordance with BS 3998 standards.
In tight spaces, tree removal and safe felling is carried out using controlled dismantling techniques. Where a tree is protected by a Tree Preservation Order, consent from Cardiff Council may be needed first - it’s worth understanding the rules on protected trees before work goes ahead.
Local tree surgeons know the area, understand the local ecosystem and have expert knowledge of the trees around Cardiff and South East Wales - which is why how you choose a tree surgeon matters.

It depends on the tree. If it has a Tree Preservation Order or sits within one of Cardiff’s conservation areas (such as Llandaff or Roath), you’ll usually need consent from Cardiff Council before work starts. We can check this for you as part of the quote.
Yes - a lot of our Cardiff work is in narrow, rear-access gardens in areas like Canton, Roath and Grangetown. We plan access, use smaller kit where needed and always leave the garden clean and clipping-free.
